Clay Date is a friendly pottery studio built around a simple pleasure: making something with your own two hands.
We host small, relaxed workshops where you can slow down, try something new, and enjoy a couple of hours away from your screen. There’s room for questions, wonky handles, second attempts, and plenty of conversation.

Bring your partner, your best friend, or your favourite person. Spend two easy hours making a small piece each, sharing ideas, and enjoying some time together.

A FEW THINGS YOU MIGHT BE WONDERING
Before you get your hands messy.
None at all. Our workshops are designed for complete beginners. We’ll explain each step, demonstrate the techniques, and help whenever you need a hand.
Clay, tools, an apron, guided tuition, glazing, and firing of the piece included in your chosen workshop. There’s no need to bring your own materials.
These workshops focus on handbuilding: shaping clay with your hands and simple tools. We won’t be using pottery wheels.
Wear something comfortable that you don’t mind getting a little messy. We provide aprons. Short nails can make working with clay easier, and we recommend removing rings and bracelets before you start.
Your piece needs time to dry before glazing and firing. It will usually be ready in 4–6 weeks, and we’ll email you when you can collect it. Please collect within 8 weeks of that email.
Absolutely. Our shared workshops are a lovely way to spend a little time doing something for yourself. You’ll have your own project and a friendly table to join.
For group workshops, contact us at least 72 hours before the start time to move your booking once or request a refund. With less notice, bookings are non-refundable, but you can send someone in your place. Private events have separate terms provided before payment.
Our regular workshops are for ages 16+. For younger groups or any access requirements, please contact us before booking so we can discuss the space and the support available.
